Goals and Objectives of this Course:

  • Use prompts about differentiation for heritage and native speakers in the World Language classroom to describe assumptions and insights of practitioners, researchers and self, including how the information relates to professional education practice and growth.
  • Differentiate activities to reach the needs of various student populations in the World Language classroom.
  • Collaborate with students who are heritage or native speakers by applying the Language Experience Approach (LEA) as a learning strategy.
  • Implement differentiation strategies created through this course.
  • Challenge the status quo in the field of World Language instruction by examining the framework of oracy.
