Goals and Objectives of this Course:
- Use prompts about teaching complex topics like colonization and Indigenous culture to describe assumptions and insights of practitioners, researchers and self, including how the information relates to professional education practice and growth.
- Design a unit plan that incorporates instructional best practices best practices, including Backwards Design and Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
- Create multiple learning activities for collaborative discussion, writing, and critical thinking activities, centered on the course text.
- Implement a variety of learning activities and resources to develop a cohesive culminating project for students.
- Challenge the status quo related to the relationship between scientific knowledge and Indigenous wisdom by exploring the interconnectedness of science, nature, and humanity.
