Goals and Objectives of this Course:
- Use prompts about vocabulary instruction, to describe assumptions and insights of practitioners, researchers and self, including how the information relates to professional education practice and growth.
- Implement evidence-based practices for explicit and incidental vocabulary instruction.
- Design a lesson to teach independent word learning skills like using context clues, word parts (morphology) or external resources (dictionaries) to unpack word meaning.
- Create a word challenge for students to build word consciousness either in collaboration with peers or individually.
- Challenge the status quo related to vocabulary assessment by incorporating deep word learning practices.
