Goals and Objectives of this Course:

  • Use prompts about autistic students’ behavior to describe assumptions and insights of practitioners, researchers and self, including how the information relates to professional education practice and growth.
  • Select or design a visual support tool to aid students with autism.
  • Collaborate with a friend or colleague by discussing the impacts of anxiety and pathological demand avoidance (PDA) on students with autism.
  • Implement evidence-based practices (EBPs) to support students with autism.
  • Challenge the status quo by creating a tip sheet with typical ASD behavior, functions, and antecedents.
