Amanda Olshenske
Client Success Team Manager
Amanda brings over 10 years of classroom experience teaching English Language Arts and Math in North Carolina and Pennsylvania. Beyond the classroom, she has excelled as an instructional coach and mentor to new teachers. Amanda is passionate about equipping educators with the tools and strategies to foster confidence, feel valued, and achieve success. One of her favorite Teaching Channel videos, “Ms. Noonan: Morning Meeting,” exemplifies her belief in the importance of setting a positive tone for students each day.
Fun Fact: Amanda has run 7 marathons. And now she runs half marathons with her dad!
Erin Theriot
Client success manager
Erin has been with Teaching Channel since 2022. Prior to joining the team, she spent 10 years in PK-8th grade education as a certified teacher, and in her last school-based role, she was a technology integration coach. She helped teachers to learn and leverage new tech-based resources in their practice, aligning their content to valuable tech-based resources, which set the standard for technology education for teachers and students across her district. Erin enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and their two cats.
Fun Fact: Erin is Cajun, which means if you ask extra nicely, she just might give you her family’s gumbo recipe.
Athena Pyros
Client success manager
Athena joined the Teaching Channel in June 2024. Prior to her current role, she taught 7th and 8th grade science in Phoenix, Arizona, and is a proud Teach For America alumna. She holds a Master’s degree in Secondary Education from Arizona State University. Following her time in the classroom, Athena transitioned to a K-12 staffing company, where she honed her skills in supporting educators. Passionate about fostering the development of future educators, she leverages the Teaching Channel to provide valuable feedback opportunities. By encouraging teachers to record their lessons and share them with mentor educators for time-stamped feedback, Athena is committed to enhancing teaching practices. One of her favorite videos in the Teaching Channel library is “Building Classroom Culture – Cheerleading Each Other.” Athena is excited to contribute to the professional growth of educators at all stages of their careers through her work at the Teaching Channel.
Fun Fact: The Chicago Marathon will be Athena’s 4th full marathon. She is on a competitive running team called the PHX Run Club.
Antonia Fields
Client success manager
Antonia has experience teaching elementary and middle school art and middle school ELA in Indianapolis, IN. She has worked as an instructional coach, district curriculum coordinator, and assistant principal at the elementary and middle school levels. As an educator and leader, she focused on ensuring lessons were standards-based, rigorous, and student-centered, with students actively owning their learning. One of her favorite Teaching Channel videos is Analyzing the Theme of a Text Through Collaborative Conversations, which highlights clear learning targets, direct instruction, and student collaboration.
Fun Fact: Antonia was a makeup artist for New York Fashion Week for several years.
Tavia Cathey
Client success manager
Tavia was privileged to work with students and teachers in several school districts nationwide, including Los Angeles Unified School District, Baltimore City Schools, and Davidson County Schools in NC. In addition to her role as an Educator, she also served as a Reading Specialist, a Mentor for beginning teachers & student teachers, and a Lead Teacher. She holds a Master’s Degree in Education with a Reading Specialist Certificate from Appalachian State University; and is a National Board Certified Teacher. Tavia is committed to sharing her passion for education and empowering teachers to grow and thrive professionally through the use of video. Her favorite Teaching Channel Library video is A Pledge To My Soon-to-be Students.
Fun Fact: Tavia used to be an amateur boxing judge.
Max Schwartz
Platform Operations Manager
Max taught kindergarten, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades in Los Angeles and Miami-Dade County. His favorite way of supporting Schools/Districts is ensuring the platform can provide solutions to meet their needs. Max is a big fan of the new Atmosphere Academy videos: Developing Art Curriculum and Solving a System of Linear Equations by Eliminations. Also, the New Teacher Survival Guide series is a classic favorite of his.
Fun Fact: Max loves gardening. He even has an orange tree, banana tree, olive tree, and mango tree in his backyard.
