Goals and Objectives of this Course:
- Use prompts about teaching reading to MLLs, to describe assumptions and insights of practitioners, researchers and self, including how the information relates to professional education practice and growth.
- Design lessons and activities focused on translanguaging, phonology, and morphology.
- Collaborate with colleagues to evaluate reading assessments with a MLL lens.
- Implement instructional strategies related to reading development including phonology, syntax, vocabulary, semantics, morphology, and pragmatics.
- Challenge the status quo by designing a lesson that builds background knowledge or activates prior knowledge.
