Goals and Objectives of this Course:
- Understand the process of language acquisition, including the 5 levels, BICS and CALP, and importance of academic language.
- Investigate scaffolded instructional strategies for supporting multilingual learners (MLLs) with language acquisition and writing.
- Reflect on ways you can help MLLs holistically by supporting language development and social emotional learning (SEL) through culturally responsive teaching and family engagement.
